Home of Air Gun Shooting

As is customary BFTO welcomed the Southern Hunters community for the season finale (R7) of the HFT winter series.

After toiling the previous 6 rounds in cold, wet and very windy conditions, those that turned up to shoot were bathed in glorious sunshine and a balmy16 degrees!
Even Mr Whippy turned up on the green post shoot and a few 99s with a flake were consumed.

Unusually and considered uncharacteristic, the wind turned up at Bisley! And it was on and off for the entire round. Not quite the hair dryer of May’s, but nonetheless enough to blow the best of us out of a kill if your timing or attention was lacking.

With the club’s usual suspects having been very busy in the woods in the days and evenings leading up to the competition, the course set presented a very respectable challenge.

Notable peg of the day was 26, which featured a Crowzilla of epic proportions completely discombobulating the seasoned HFT shooter from determining the range!

76 shooters returned their scorecard on the day, top scores were a brace of 57s from Jake Day and Josh Townsend, resulting in a shoot-off for 1st place.
A brief shoot-off saw Jake take the round win with an outstanding kneeler on 15mm squirrel with Josh very narrowly missing a kill to take it to the standers.

All in all a fantastic day well supported by the club’s members, Air Arms, and the HFT community!

Next up is the UKAHFT National round in July!
